My Projects is where you find everything you have saved in Social Explorer: maps, stories, reports, and report templates, plus maps and stories other people have shared with you. You need to be logged in to see it.
Open My Projects
- Click My Projects in the left-hand sidebar, or
- On the Home page, click View all next to Recent Map Projects.
Tabs
- Maps: maps you have saved, and maps shared with you.
- Stories: multi-map stories. See Tell a story with Maps.
- Reports: reports saved in the Reports app. See Save a Report.
- Templates: saved lists of tables you can reuse in new reports. See Creating and Saving a Template.
Each row shows the title, when it was last modified, and who owns it. Maps and stories also show how many times they were viewed. Click a row to open it. Reports and templates open in the Reports app.
Find a project
- Search: type in Search projects by name.
- Sort: choose Date modified, Date created, or Title (maps and stories can also sort by View Count). Click the arrow next to it to switch between ascending and descending order.
- Filter by owner (Maps and Stories): choose All files, My files, or Shared with me.
- If you have many projects, click Show more at the bottom of the list.
Rename, duplicate, share, or delete
Click the three-dot menu at the end of a row:
- Edit title and description: rename the project or change its description.
- Duplicate: make a copy with a new title. The original is not changed.
- Share: get a link to the project (see below).
- Delete: remove the project.
For templates, the menu has Rename and Delete.

Share a map or story
- Click the three-dot menu next to the map or story, then Share.
- Turn on Public project to make it visible to anyone with the link. A private project is visible only to you and people you invite, and shows a lock icon in the list.
- Click Copy link, or click a social media icon to share it there.

Start something new
If a tab is empty, it shows a button to create your first map, story, report, or template. You can also use Create new... at the top of the left-hand sidebar. See Create New Projects.
