Social Explorer AI provides built-in download and export options that allow you to save tables, charts, and maps generated by the AI for use outside the platform. These options are available directly within the AI interface and depend on the type of result being displayed.
This article explains where download and export options appear, what formats are available, and how exported outputs relate to sources and methodology.
Where Download and Export Options Appear
When the AI generates a table, chart, or map, action controls appear above the visualization or table.
Depending on the output type, you may see:
• a Download button
• an Export button
• an Open in editor option (for maps only)
These controls are always tied to the specific result generated by your question.
Exporting Tables
Tables generated by Social Explorer AI include a Download or Export option displayed above the table.
When selected, this option allows you to export the data shown in the table for use in external tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, R, or Python.
Exported table data reflects exactly what is shown in the AI response, including:
• geographic names and identifiers
• numeric values
• ranking positions, when applicable
• any additional columns generated by the AI
The exported file preserves the structure and ordering of the table displayed in the AI interface.
Exporting Charts
When a chart is opened in the AI Studio, an Export button appears in the top-right corner of the visualization. Clicking Export opens a menu with the following options:
"Export CSV"
"Export JSON"
"Export PNG"
"Export JPG"
These options allow you to save the chart data or the visual output in different formats:
• CSV and JSON exports include the underlying numeric data used to generate the chart
• PNG and JPG exports save the visual chart image for presentations or documents
The exported files reflect the exact data, ordering, and values shown in the chart at the time of export.
Exporting Maps
Maps generated by Social Explorer AI include two primary actions:
Open in editor
Export
The Open in editor option opens the map in the full Social Explorer mapping interface, where you can apply advanced customization, styling, and additional layers.
The Export option allows you to download the map visualization for use in reports, presentations, or external documents.
Map exports reflect the selected variable, geography, and dataset used in the AI response.
Relationship to Sources and Methodology
Download and export options provide access only to the visual or numeric output.
Source information, methodology explanations, and metadata are displayed directly within the AI interface and are not embedded in exported files.
To fully understand data origin, reliability, and interpretation, users should review:
• the Sources panel
• the Methodology section shown in the AI response
This ensures proper citation, transparency, and responsible use of exported data.
Important Notes
• Export and download options vary depending on the type of result displayed
• Not all outputs support the same export formats
• All exported results correspond exactly to the AI response generated by your question
Download and export features enable users to seamlessly move from AI-generated insights to external analysis and reporting while maintaining consistency with Social Explorer’s underlying data.
