Why use this feature
Applying templates in maps makes it simple to generate consistent reports directly from the mapping interface, without having to reselect tables.
Use a Template in Maps
- Open the mapping interface.

Click Create Report.
- Open the Topic dropdown.
- Select one of your saved templates.
| Note: The list will only show templates qualified for the selected survey. For example, if you are on any ACS 5-Year survey, all templates containing tables from ACS 5-Year surveys will appear in the list. To access different saved templates, simply change the current survey in the map. |
Switch Surveys When Using Templates
If your template was created in a different survey:
- Change the Source in the dropdown.
- Your saved templates for that survey will appear.
- Select the template to apply it.
| Tip: Templates appear in the Topic dropdown when the correct survey source is selected. |
